Is the Petscosset cat house worth it for a feral cat?

Yes, if you need a raised, weatherproof shelter with a lockable door. At $132.98 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it costs less than many insulated wooden houses, but you give up insulation.

Does it stay dry in heavy rain?

The asphalt roof and raised balcony shed water, and the extended sun board keeps rain off the entry. Seal the fir wood before winter to prevent rot and swelling.

How many cats fit inside?

One or two cats fit comfortably across the two levels. A single cat gets the upper floor and balcony; two cats can split levels.

What assembly is required?

It ships flat and needs full assembly with the included hardware. Two people should plan on an hour or more, and a drill helps.

Can I use it indoors or in a garage?

Yes. It is free-standing, so it works in a garage or screened porch. The wood is untreated for indoor air, so ventilate the space during the first days.

When is the price lowest?

Outdoor cat houses tend to dip in late summer and early fall before winter demand. Track the price history and buy below the recent range rather than at the first listing you see.
