Is this a pair or a single bulb?

The listing is for a pair, so you get two D2R bulbs. That lets you replace both sides at once, which is recommended since HID bulbs color-shift with age.

Will these fit my car?

Only if your car uses D2R bulbs in reflector HID housings. Check your owner's manual or the old bulb's stamp; D2S bulbs are not interchangeable with D2R.

Do I need a new ballast?

No, if your existing ballast works. These bulbs need the factory HID ballast and igniter; if one side is dark, test the ballast before blaming the bulb.

Is 4300K or 5000K correct?

The specs list 4300K as standard while the name says 5000K. Philips' standard D2R is around 4300K, so confirm the exact part number with the seller before buying.

Why is $13.99 so cheap for Philips bulbs?

Genuine Philips D2R pairs normally cost far more, so a $13.99 pair at eBay as of November 5, 2026 warrants checking for counterfeit packaging and seller reputation.

Are these legal in halogen headlights?

No. D2R bulbs belong only in housings designed for HID; putting them in halogen reflectors is illegal in most states and causes glare.

Our take on the Philips D2R Xenon HID Bulb 35W 5000K (pair)

This is a pair of Philips D2R xenon HID headlight bulbs rated at 35W and 85V, a direct OEM replacement for factory D2R fittings. D2R bulbs have a shielded arc so they work in reflector housings without blinding oncoming traffic. At $13.99 for the pair at eBay as of November 5, 2026, this is at the low end of what a pair of D2R bulbs costs; genuine Philips pairs usually run well above that.
