Is the Flosser D2R worth it over a cheaper D2R bulb?

It sits in the middle of the D2R market at $83.41 at Autoplicity as of November 5, 2026. The built-in igniter and DOT/SAE claim make it a reasonable direct replacement. Cheaper no-name bulbs often skip the compliance claim and may not last.

Will this fit my car?

Only if your car uses D2R bulbs in reflector HID housings. Check the bulb type printed on your old bulb or in the owner's manual. D2S and halogen housings need a different bulb.

Do I need to buy two?

The listing is for one bulb. HID bulbs dim with age, so replacing both sides at once keeps color and brightness matched. That means buying two.

How long does the bulb last?

Flosser rates it at 2 years or 24,000 miles. Real-world life depends on how often the lights run; HID output fades gradually before it fails.

Can I install it myself?

Yes, if you can reach the housing and disconnect the battery first. Xenon bulbs run at high voltage, and you must not touch the glass envelope with bare fingers.
