Is the Pilot FriXion Ball worth it?

Yes, if you need a pen you can undo. It erases cleanly and writes smoothly, and its 4.6 out of 5 rating from about 5,200 ratings shows broad satisfaction. Skip it if you need permanent, archival ink.

How does the FriXion eraser work?

The rubber tip rubs away thermo-sensitive ink through friction heat rather than scraping it off. That means no eraser crumbs and no torn paper, but the ink can also vanish if the page gets hot.

Can I use it for exams or official documents?

Usually not. Many schools and legal settings require permanent ink, and FriXion ink can fade with heat. Use it for notes, drafts and planning instead.

What's the difference between the 0.7mm and 0.5mm FriXion?

The 0.7mm fine point lays down a slightly bolder, smoother line and suits general writing. The 0.5mm extra-fine is better for small handwriting and tight spaces.

Does it come in other colors?

Yes. The FriXion Ball line includes black, blue, red, green and other colors, and multi-color packs are common. This listing is the red ink version.

Back-to-school season and multipack listings usually give the lowest per-pen price. Check the price history on this page before buying a single pen.
