Do the ES60 towers need a subwoofer?

No for most music. The dual 6.5-inch woofers and down-firing port reach a claimed 32 Hz, which covers most bass content. A subwoofer still helps for deep home theater effects.

What amplifier power do the ES60s need?

Polk recommends 50 to 300 watts per channel. At 90 dB sensitivity and 4/8-ohm compatibility, a typical 50 to 100 watt receiver drives them to loud levels.

How do the ES60 compare with the ES55?

The ES60 is the larger tower with dual 6.5-inch woofers, deeper bass and higher output. The ES55 uses smaller woofers and suits smaller rooms or tighter budgets.

Can I use the ES60 in a 5.1 home theater?

Yes. They work as front left and right speakers in a 5.1 setup, and Polk sells matching center and surround models in the Signature Elite line.

What is in the box with each ES60?

Each tower ships with the speaker, a grille, floor spikes or pads and a manual. Speaker cable and amplification are sold separately.
