Our take on the Powermate Vx 024-0243CT Impact Wrench

The Powermate Vx 024-0243CT is a 3/8-inch pneumatic impact wrench rated at 130 ft-lbs of maximum torque, with four speed settings and a forward/reverse torque control. It weighs 6 lbs and is built for tightening and removing bolts in tight spaces. It is a basic air-tool option rather than a high-torque shop wrench. The best new price is $53.31 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is little price history to compare against.

Questions and answers

Is 130 ft-lbs enough for lug nuts?
It is enough for many small-car lug nuts, but not for trucks or rusted fasteners. For those, step up to a 1/2-inch wrench with 300 ft-lbs or more.
What compressor do I need to run it?
A 3/8-inch impact wrench typically needs a few CFM at 90 psi, so a small pancake compressor may struggle on long jobs. Check your compressor's CFM at 90 psi before buying.
Does it come with sockets?
Listings for this model generally show the tool only. Plan on buying impact-rated 3/8-inch sockets separately.
Is it worth $53.31?
At $53.31 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it is a low-cost way to add air impact capability. Compare against cordless 3/8-inch impacts if you don't already own a compressor.
When is it cheapest?
With only one store listing it new, there is no meaningful price history. Watch that listing for drops rather than waiting on seasonal sales.
Where is the Powermate Vx 024-0243CT Impact Wrench cheapest?
