Is the 12.9 mm REVO worth it over the 12.4 mm?

The 12.9 mm tip is more forgiving on off-center hits and suits players who want a firmer, more stable feel. The 12.4 mm gives slightly more spin control and a finer aim point. Pick the 12.9 if you value consistency over maximum spin.

It uses a Radial joint pin, so it fits Predator butts and other cues with a Radial joint. It will not fit 3/8x10, 5/16x14 or Uni-Loc butts without an adapter or a different shaft.

What is the REVO Low-Rise taper?

It is a pro taper that rises about 8% over the first 14 inches, so the shaft stays stiff through the stroke. That stiffness is part of why the shaft deflects less than wood.

What comes in the box?

You get the 29-inch shaft with a Predator Victory soft tip installed, a case and REVO cleaning wipes. The butt is not included.

Does the warranty cover warpage?

Yes. Predator's limited lifetime warranty covers warpage, which is one reason carbon fiber shafts appeal to players who leave cues in cars or bags.

Predator shafts rarely discount deeply, but retailers often run sales around major tournaments and holidays. Watch the price history here to see whether the current price is near its low.

Our take on the Predator REVO 12.9 WVP

The Predator REVO 12.9 WVP is a carbon fiber composite pool cue shaft with a 12.9 mm tip, a 29-inch length and Predator's ferrule-less Vault Plate construction. It uses the REVO Low-Rise Pro taper, which rises about 8% over the first 14 inches, and ships with a Predator Victory soft tip, a case and cleaning wipes. Predator backs it with a limited lifetime warranty against warpage. It is the wider-tip version of the REVO line, aimed at players who want more forgiveness and a firmer hit than the 11.8 and 12.4 mm models.
