Our take on the Predator Revo
The Predator Revo is a carbon-fiber composite pool shaft with a ferrule-less 'Vault Plate' tip construction and a Uni-Loc quick-release joint. It is sold as a shaft only, so it fits Predator butts with Uni-Loc pins and similar joints. The 11.8 mm tip and conical-hybrid taper give low deflection and a stiff, consistent hit. It is a premium-priced upgrade; check the current best price against its recent range before buying.
- Carbon-fiber construction resists dents, warping and humidity
- Low deflection from the ferrule-less Vault Plate tip end
- Slick, durable finish that stays smooth without chalk buildup
- Consistent hit and taper from shaft to shaft
- Uni-Loc quick-release joint swaps fast

Owners generally rate the Revo highly for its low deflection, durability and consistent feel, and many call it a long-term upgrade. Complaints center on the stiff, sometimes pingy hit and the price.
- Very low deflection on off-center hits
- Holds up to dings and humidity better than wood
- Smooth, low-friction finish
- Consistent hit across shafts
- Stiff feel and audible ping
- High price for a shaft alone
- 11.8 mm tip is small for some tastes
- Less 'feel' feedback than maple

Questions and answers
- Is the Revo worth it over a wood shaft?
- If you want low deflection and a shaft that won't warp or ding, yes. If you prefer the softer feedback of maple, a good laminated shaft costs less.
- Does it fit my cue?
- It fits butts with a Uni-Loc quick-release pin. Other pin types need a different Revo version or an adapter.
- What tip size and taper does it have?
- An 11.8 mm medium tip on a conical-hybrid taper, 29 inches long. Other diameters are sold as separate Revo models.
- Is there a ferrule?
- No. The Vault Plate construction replaces the ferrule, which is part of why deflection is low.
- What's in the box?
- The shaft only. No butt, case or joint protectors are included.
- When is it cheapest?
- Watch for holiday and back-to-school sales and bundle deals with Predator butts. Compare across stores, since shaft prices vary.
