Will this lid fit my 44-gallon trash can?

It is made for round 44-gallon cans, specifically the Huskee MSC4445, and measures about 24-1/2 inches in diameter. Measure your can's opening before ordering, since other brands and shapes may not match.

Is this a trash can or just the lid?

Just the lid. The can is not included, so this is for replacing a damaged or missing lid on a can you already own.

Does it fit square or rectangular cans?

No. It is round and sized for round 44-gallon cans. Square and rectangular bins need their own matching lids.

Is the lid heavy enough to stay on in wind?

It is solid polyethylene with some weight, but it has no latch. In strong wind or if the can tips, the lid can come off.

When is the best time to buy it?

At $13.58 at Motion as of November 4, 2026, it is already inexpensive. Compare the two stores listing it before ordering, since shipping can outweigh a small price gap.
