Is the Purple Restore Hybrid worth it?

It suits shoppers who want pressure relief plus a cooler, bouncier feel than foam. If you want a conventional innerspring feel or a low price, cheaper hybrids do the job.

Should I choose Soft or Firm?

Side sleepers and lighter sleepers usually prefer Soft; back and stomach sleepers and heavier sleepers usually do better on Firm. Combination sleepers often land on Firm for support.

The GelFlex Grid and coil core leave more open space for airflow than dense foam, so most owners report cooler sleep. A breathable protector and bedding help.

Do I need a foundation or adjustable base?

The mattress is sold alone, so you need a foundation, box spring or adjustable base. Purple lists adjustable bases as compatible.

What is the GelFlex Grid?

It is Purple's elastic polymer grid that flexes under pressure points while staying supportive. It gives the mattress its unusual feel and its cooling and pressure-relief claims.

Purple discounts most around major sales like Memorial Day, Labor Day and Black Friday. Watch the price history rather than buying at full price.

Our take on the Purple Restore Hybrid King Mattress

The Purple Restore Hybrid is a king-size hybrid mattress that pairs Purple's GelFlex Grid with a responsive coil core. It comes in Soft and Firm builds and is aimed at side and combination sleepers who want pressure relief with more bounce than all-foam beds. The grid and open coil design are meant to sleep cooler than dense foam. It is sold as a mattress only; an adjustable base is compatible but not included.
