Is this set good for a complete beginner?

Yes. It is sold as a beginner set and the short handles suit palm pushing on small work. Expect a learning curve on the bent tools and on sharpening.

What tools are in the six-piece set?

The assortment includes a veiner, bent chisel, bent parting tool, gouge and skew, with 3/32-inch blades. Check the listing for the exact sixth tool before ordering.

Can I use a mallet with these tools?

Ramelson rates them for hand or light mallet use. Keep the mallet light, since the 3/32-inch blades are thin.

How big are the tools?

Each tool is about 5-1/2 inches long with a 3/32-inch (2.4 mm) blade, and the whole set weighs about 0.62 lb.

Is $66.57 a good price?

Only one store lists it new at $66.57 as of November 5, 2026, so there is no competing price to compare against. Watch the listing for changes rather than expecting a discount elsewhere.

Are the tools made in the USA?

Yes, Ramelson lists the set as made in the USA.
