Is $179.99 a good price for the Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer?

Yes. These glasses launched around $299, and $179.99 at eBay as of November 7, 2026 is well below that. It is close to the lowest new price seen for the Gen 1 model.

Do I need a Meta account and phone to use them?

Yes. You need a Meta account, the Meta AI app and a compatible Android or iOS phone with internet access. Pairing is required before the camera, audio and AI features work.

How long does the battery last?

Expect roughly four hours of mixed use, less with heavy video recording or long calls. The included case holds extra charges for a few more sessions.

Can I use them as normal sunglasses?

Yes. They are real Ray-Ban Wayfarers with green G-15 lenses and full UV protection, and they work as sunglasses even with the electronics off.

Does Meta AI work everywhere?

No. Meta AI is only available in select countries and languages, and features can change or be withdrawn. Check availability for your region before buying.

Can I add prescription lenses?

The standard version ships with non-prescription lenses. Ray-Ban offers prescription versions of these frames separately, so check with an optician for a prescription build.
