Is the Razor A worth it at $39.99?

Yes, if the rider is under 143 lb. That is near the bottom of its usual $35 to $50 range, and the folding aluminum frame is the benchmark for basic kid scooters.

How does the Razor A compare to the A2 or A3?

The A2 and A3 add larger wheels and a slightly higher weight limit, which helps on rougher pavement. The plain A is lighter and cheaper, and fine for smooth sidewalks.

What age and weight is it for?

Razor rates it to 143 lb (65 kg), which in practice means kids around 5 to 12. Adults and heavier teens should look at the A2, A3 or an adult model.

Does it fold, and how big is it folded?

Yes. The T-tube releases and folds down against the deck, making it easy to carry onto a bus or store in a trunk. Assembled it measures about 24 by 11 by 32 inches.

What comes in the box?

The scooter arrives mostly assembled, with the handlebar and T-tube to attach and the tools included. No helmet or carry strap is included.

Back-to-school season and Black Friday are when it typically drops to its lowest prices. At $39.99 it is already close to the floor, so waiting rarely saves much.

Our take on the Razor A Kick Scooter

The Razor A is the original folding kick scooter: an aluminum T-tube frame, two 98 mm urethane wheels and a rear fender brake. The handlebar adjusts from roughly 25 to 32 inches, and the whole thing folds for carrying or stashing. It holds riders up to 143 lb, so it is built for kids and lighter teens, not adults. At $39.99 at Amazon as of November 3, 2026, it sits at the low end of its usual street price, which commonly runs from about $35 to $50.
