Is a 12-inch cordless trimmer enough for my yard?

For lots under about a quarter acre and light grass, yes. For larger lawns or thick weeds, a 14- to 16-inch trimmer with a bigger battery will finish faster.

How long does the battery last?

Runtime is not published for this model. Expect roughly 20 to 40 minutes of light trimming from a trimmer of this size and class, and buy a spare battery if you have a full yard.

What string size does it take?

The listing does not state a line diameter. Most 12-inch cordless trimmers use 0.065-inch line; check the manual before buying a spool.

Is it worth it over a corded trimmer?

If you need to reach areas far from an outlet, cordless is worth the premium. For a small yard near power, a corded trimmer costs less and never runs out of charge.

When is the best time to buy?

Trimmers usually drop in price in late summer and early fall as stores clear seasonal stock. Watch the price history for a dip below the spring level.

Our take on the Rebrilliant Cordless String Trimmer 12"

The Rebilliant Cordless String Trimmer is a battery-powered weed trimmer with a 12-inch cutting swath, aimed at light yard cleanup rather than heavy brush. Its cordless design means no gas mixing and no extension cord, but a 12-inch cut is narrower than the 14- to 16-inch decks on most mainstream cordless trimmers, so edging and small yards take longer. No current price or price history was provided, so there is no recent range to compare against.
