Yes if you already own a Redington Zero 4/5 and want a second line weight. A spool costs less than a full reel and swaps in seconds.

No. It is made for the Redington Zero in the 4/5 size. Other models and sizes use different spools.

How much backing does it hold?

About 100 yards of 20 lb backing, plus the fly line. That is enough for typical trout fishing.

What is included with the spool?

The spool only. No reel body, line, or backing is included.

When is the price lowest?

Spare spools see small discounts, often in winter and around spring sales. At $54.99 at Amazon as of November 3, 2026, it is already near the typical low.
