This is an aftermarket replacement slide for a Glock 17 Gen 3, machined from 17-4 stainless steel with a QPQ black finish and cut for Docter-footprint red dots. It is a bare slide, so you move your factory barrel, recoil spring and internal parts over, or buy new ones. The Docter cut lets you mount a compact red dot low on the slide instead of using a plate adapter. It is a niche upgrade, and pricing on it moves less than on factory Glock parts.

Is this slide worth it over a factory Glock 17 slide?
If you want a red dot on a Gen 3 Glock 17, a pre-cut stainless slide saves you the cost and wait of milling your factory slide. If you do not plan to run an optic, the factory slide is cheaper and needs no fitting.
What red dots fit the Docter cut?
Any optic with the Docter/Noblex footprint, such as the Noblex-Docter III or Leupold DeltaPoint Micro-pattern sights. A Trijicon RMR or Holosun 407C needs a different cut or an adapter plate.
What do I need to complete the build?
You need a Glock 17 barrel, recoil spring assembly, firing pin and safety plunger, extractor, and sights or an optic. The slide ships as a bare stainless part with the QPQ finish.
Will it fit my Gen 4 or Gen 5 Glock 17?
No. It is cut for the Gen 3 frame and its parts. Gen 4 and Gen 5 guns use different slide and recoil geometry.
Does it come with sights?
No iron sights are included. You supply your own sights or mount a Docter-footprint red dot in the cut.
