Our take on the Roland FANTOM-8EX Synth

The FANTOM-8EX is Roland's flagship 88-key workstation synth, built around a weighted hammer-action keyboard, a large color touchscreen, and the V-Piano engine plus the ZEN-Core sound engine. It has no built-in speakers, so it needs an amp or PA, and it records and plays WAV audio over USB. Its best new price is $4,099.99 at Musician's Friend as of November 7, 2026, with only two stores listing it new, so comparison shopping is limited.
