Is 8/2 NM-B the right cable for a range or dryer?

Only if the appliance is straight 240 V and does not need a neutral. Most ranges and dryers use 8/3 with a neutral. Check the appliance's nameplate and local code before buying.

Can Romex 8/2 be used outdoors or underground?

No. NM-B is rated for dry locations only. Use UF cable for buried runs and wet-rated conduit or cable outdoors.

What does SIMpull change versus standard NM-B?

The jacket is formulated to slide more easily through framing and conduit, so pulls need less lubricant and effort. The conductors and ampacity are the same.

What is 8 AWG copper rated for?

The cable is marked 55 A at 90°C, but the usable ampacity depends on the termination and code table, often 40 to 50 A for typical residential terminations. Confirm with a licensed electrician.

One 75 ft coil of 8/2 NM-B cable with two insulated conductors and a bare ground. No connectors or staples are included.

Copper cable prices track metal markets, so per-foot cost moves with copper prices. Compare per-foot prices across stores rather than coil totals.

Our take on the Romex 8/2 NM-B SIMpull Cable with Ground

Romex 8/2 NM-B SIMpull is a 75 ft coil of nonmetallic-sheathed copper cable with two insulated conductors plus a bare ground, rated 600 V and 90°C. The SIMpull jacket is designed to pull through conduit and framing with less lubricant and effort than older NM-B jackets. It is for dry indoor branch circuits and feeders, not for wet or outdoor locations. No current store price was provided, so compare per-foot pricing across listings before buying.
