Is this really waterproof?

Yes. It has a waterproof backing under the microfiber top that blocks liquids from reaching the mattress. Wipe or wash promptly after a spill.

Does it feel plasticky or noisy?

Less than most vinyl protectors. The microfiber top softens it, though the backing can rustle slightly until it settles.

Will it fit a Twin XL mattress?

Check the size label before buying. The listing mixes Twin and Full sizing, so confirm you are getting the Twin or Twin XL you need.

How should I wash it?

Machine wash warm and tumble dry low. Skip fabric softener and high heat, which can damage the waterproof layer.

Is it good for a dorm bed?

Yes. It is cheap, easy to wash and protects a mattress you do not own, which makes it a common dorm pick.

When is the best time to buy?

Back-to-school season and Target's dorm sales are when it drops lowest. At $9.96 at Amazon as of November 7, 2026, it is already near its floor.
