Our take on the Rosalind Wheeler Queen Wood Platform Bed with Upholstered Headboard and Footboard

A queen platform bed with a solid wood frame, an upholstered headboard and a matching upholstered footboard. It ships with slats, so a box spring is not required. The upholstered footboard is the unusual part: most platform beds in this class leave the foot open, and it changes how the bed sits in a room. No current price was given for this listing, so compare it against other Rosalind Wheeler queen beds before buying.

Questions and answers

Do I need a box spring with this bed?
No. The bed includes slats, so a queen mattress can sit directly on the frame. Check that your mattress warranty allows slat support.
What mattress height works with the upholstered headboard?
A standard queen mattress around 8 to 12 inches thick usually leaves the headboard visible. Very thick mattresses can cover most of the upholstered panel.
Is the footboard removable?
The listing does not say the footboard is removable. Treat it as a fixed part of the frame when planning your room layout.
How much assembly does it need?
Expect to attach the side rails, slats, headboard and footboard. Two people make it easier to line up the frame and lift the upholstered pieces.
How does it compare with an open-foot platform bed?
An open-foot bed is easier to walk around and suits smaller rooms. This one gives a more finished, hotel-style look but takes up more floor space.
When is the best time to buy?
Furniture prices often drop during holiday sales and end-of-season clearances. Compare the current price with its recent range before buying.
