Is the Rubbermaid Brute container worth it?

At $4.79 at Target as of November 4, 2026, it is a cheap way to get a large, sealed container for leftovers or meal prep. If you need several sizes or glass, a set costs more.

Is it really leak proof?

Rubbermaid calls the QuikClik lid leak resistant, not leak proof. It holds for fridge and lunch-bag use, but do not lay it on its side full of liquid.

Can I microwave and freeze it?

Yes. The base is microwave safe and the set is freezer safe. Leave the lid off or vented when microwaving.

The base and lid are top-rack dishwasher safe. Hand washing the lid extends the life of the seal.

It holds 11.7 cups and measures about 10.12 by 9.62 by 10 inches. That is roughly family-size leftovers or a batch of soup.

The $4.79 Target price as of November 4, 2026 is the lowest of the three stores listing it new. Back-to-school and holiday storage sales are when these sets typically drop.
