Does the Ryobi PCL525B come with a battery?

No. It is a bare tool; battery and charger are sold separately. Any Ryobi 18V ONE+ battery works.

Is it worth it over a corded jigsaw?

If you already own ONE+ batteries, yes for portability and quick cuts. For long sessions in thick hardwood, a corded saw gives steadier power.

What blades does it take?

It uses standard T-shank blades and ships with one wood-cutting blade. Tool-free release makes swaps quick.

The saw, a non-marring shoe, one T-shank wood blade, a hex wrench and the manual. No battery or charger.

How does it compare to the older Ryobi jigsaw?

The PCL525B adds a brushless-free design with four orbital settings, LED light and tool-free blade change on the current ONE+ platform. It is the newer bare-tool option.

Our take on the Ryobi PCL525B

The Ryobi PCL525B is a bare-tool 18V ONE+ cordless jigsaw with a variable-speed trigger up to 3,000 SPM, four orbital settings, tool-free blade changes and an LED worklight. It weighs 4.4 lb and runs on any Ryobi ONE+ battery, which is sold separately. It is a value-priced cordless jigsaw for light to moderate cutting; the price moves little, so waiting rarely saves much.
