Our take on the Sadie 7-Piece Rectangular Dining Set with Ladder Back Chairs

The Sadie 7-Piece Dining Set is a Macy's-exclusive rectangular dining group: a 40-inch-wide table in a rustic frosted grey finish, six ladder-back side chairs, and an 18-inch leaf that stretches the table from 72 to 90 inches. The table is built from Asian hardwood solids with a random-matched oak veneer top and tapered legs, and the chairs are upholstered. Seating is listed at six, with room for eight once the leaf is in. At $1,029 at Macy's as of November 3, 2026, it is the only new price tracked, so there is no recent range to compare against.

Best forFamilies who need to seat six daily and eight for holidaysKitchen or dining rooms with a grey or neutral rustic paletteBuyers who want table and chairs in one purchaseAnyone who hosts occasionally but has limited floor space
Pros
  • 18-inch leaf takes seating from six to eight
  • 40-inch width fits narrower dining rooms
  • Upholstered chairs are more comfortable than plain wood seats
  • Oak veneer top gives a real-wood look at a set price
  • Tapered legs and ladder backs suit casual and farmhouse rooms
Cons
  • Veneer top and hardwood laminate frame, not solid wood throughout
  • Only one store prices it new, so there is little price competition
  • Grey frosted finish limits matching with warm wood furniture
  • Chairs are listed as side chairs only, no armchair or bench option

Questions and answers

Is the Sadie dining set worth $1,029?
For a seven-piece set with an upholstered chair group and a leaf, $1,029 at Macy's as of November 3, 2026 is a mid-range price. You are paying for the complete matching set rather than solid-wood construction.
How many people does it actually seat?
Six with the leaf out, eight with the 18-inch leaf in. The table is 72 inches long without the leaf and 90 inches with it, at 40 inches wide.
Is the table solid wood?
No. The frame is kiln-dried hardwood laminate and the top is random-matched oak veneer over Asian hardwood solids. That is normal at this price but means you should use coasters and avoid standing water on the top.
What comes in the box?
The table, six ladder-back upholstered side chairs, and the 18-inch leaf. Assembly is required.
Will it fit my dining room?
The table is 40 inches wide and 30 inches high, and 90 inches long with the leaf. Allow about 36 inches of clearance around the table for chairs to pull out.
When is it cheapest?
Macy's runs furniture sales around major holidays and clearance events, and this set is only tracked at one store, so watch for a markdown rather than comparing across retailers.
Where is the Sadie 7-Piece Rectangular Dining Set with Ladder Back Chairs cheapest?
At Macy's, for $1,029.00, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Sadie 7-Piece Rectangular Dining Set with Ladder Back Chairs?
Rated 5 out of 5 from 7 ratings.
