Is the Safavieh Natura Rug good for homes with pets?

It is marketed as pet-friendly, but the oversized loops can snag on claws. Trim snags rather than pulling them, and vacuum with a suction head, not a beater bar.

What size is this rug?

It is 2'3" wide by 6' long, a runner shape, even though the listing labels it square. Measure your hallway before ordering.

How do I clean a wool loop rug?

Vacuum regularly with suction only, blot spills right away, and use a wool-safe spot cleaner. Avoid machine washing, which can shrink or bleed the wool.

Does it need a rug pad?

A pad is recommended. It keeps the runner from sliding on carpet or hard floors and adds cushioning under the thin 3/8-inch pile.

When is the best time to buy it?

Rug prices often dip during seasonal sales and holiday events. Check the price history to see whether the current price is near its low.

It carries OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certification and is described as non-toxic. That makes it a reasonable choice for family rooms.

Our take on the Safavieh Natura Rug

The Safavieh Natura Rug is a handmade, hand-woven wool runner measuring 2'3" by 6', with a 3/8-inch pile of oversized loops in a modern style. It is OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified and marketed as non-toxic and pet- and kid-friendly, so it suits family rooms and dens. Wool loop pile is durable but not ideal for homes with cats that pull loops. The listing shows a 4.7 rating from 3,200 ratings; no current price was provided, so check the price history before buying.
