Question 1

Is the XA PRO 3D V9 worth it at $125?

Accepted Answer

At $125 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent $125 to $165 range. That is a fair price for a waterproof, protective trail shoe if you value durability over low weight.

Question 2

How does the V9 differ from the XA PRO 3D V8?

Accepted Answer

The V9 keeps the same 3D chassis, GORE-TEX option and quickLACE system, with a refreshed upper and outsole. Expect a similar fit and ride rather than a major redesign.

Question 3

Is it good for running or just hiking?

Accepted Answer

It works for both, but the 315 g weight and 11 mm drop suit hiking and easy-to-moderate trail runs better than fast training. Runners doing 2 to 3 sessions a week on mixed terrain are the target.

Question 4

Does the GORE-TEX version breathe?

Accepted Answer

Less than the non-waterproof version. The membrane blocks rain and puddles but holds heat, so it is best for cool, wet conditions rather than hot summer runs.

Question 5

What is the fit and sizing like?

Accepted Answer

It runs in a regular width with a roomy toe box and a secure midfoot from the quickLACE system. Most buyers take their usual Salomon size; those between sizes often size up for thicker socks.

Question 6

When is it cheapest?

Accepted Answer

Prices on this model dip during seasonal clearance and around major sales events. The current $125 at eBay matches the bottom of its recent range, so further drops are likely only on older colorways.

Question 7

Where is the Salomon XA PRO 3D V9 cheapest?

Accepted Answer

At eBay, for $125.00, 26% under what the other stores charge, as of our latest check.

Question 8
