Our take on the Samson Satellite USB/iOS Broadcast Microphone

The Samson Satellite is a pocket-sized USB condenser microphone built for podcasting, streaming and studio recording on a computer or an iPhone. It stands out for its three switchable pickup patterns (cardioid, bidirectional, omnidirectional) and a 16mm diaphragm in an aluminum and steel body that weighs 0.75 lb. It records at 20 Hz to 20 kHz with a max SPL of 135 dB and an 80 dB signal-to-noise ratio. At $17.95 at Walmart as of November 3, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range, well below what a multi-pattern USB mic usually costs.
