Is the Samsonite Swerv 3.0 a carry-on?

Yes. At 22.5 x 14.5 x 9.5 inches it is sized as a carry-on and fits most major US airline overhead bins. Check your airline's limit, since some international carriers are stricter.

Is $98.99 a good price for it?

Yes. The Swerv 3.0 usually sells for $150 to $200, so $98.99 at JCPenney as of November 6, 2026 is near the low end of its recent range.

Does it have a TSA lock?

Yes. It has an integrated TSA-approved combination lock, so security agents can open it without cutting the zipper.

How much extra room does the expansion add?

The bag expands by 1.5 inches of depth, which is roughly enough for a few extra layers or small souvenirs.

The shell is 100% ABS plastic with enhanced scratch resistance, and the interior is lined in polyester with packing straps.

The single carry-on spinner is the only piece; it is not sold as a set. The TSA lock is built in, so no separate lock is included.
