Is the Samsung DU8000 worth it over a QLED TV?

If you mainly stream shows and watch in a normally lit room, the DU8000 covers the basics at a lower price. A QLED or mini-LED set costs more but gives noticeably deeper blacks and better HDR.

Does the DU8000 have a 120Hz panel for gaming?

No. It is a 60Hz TV, so it will not deliver 120fps gameplay on consoles that support it. Casual gaming is fine, but competitive players should look at Samsung's higher-tier models.

You get the TV, a stand, a remote, and the power cable. HDMI cables are not included, so plan to buy one for each device you connect.

Can I use Alexa or Google Assistant with it?

Yes. The TV supports both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, and it also has Samsung's own Bixby voice control built in.

When is the best time to buy it?

Prices on entry-level Samsung TVs tend to drop around major sale events and when the next model year arrives. Check the price history before buying to see whether the current price is near its low.

Our take on the Samsung 65" DU8000 Crystal UHD 4K Smart TV (2024)

The Samsung DU8000 is a 2024 65-inch Crystal UHD LED TV with a 4K panel, HDR, and the Tizen smart platform. It is Samsung's entry-level 4K line, so it skips the mini-LED backlight and 120Hz panel of the Neo QLED sets but keeps the core smart features and voice assistant support. It suits buyers who want a big-name 65-inch 4K set for streaming and casual viewing without paying QLED prices.
