Is this drain worth it over a standard clamping drain?

If you are already using Kerdi membrane or a Kerdi-Shower tray, yes. The bonded flange removes the clamping ring and the joint where leaks usually start. On a non-Schluter shower it adds cost without benefit.

Does the kit include a grate?

No. The kit is the drain flange and body with the 2-inch outlet. You choose a Kerdi-Drain grate separately, and the grate style must match the drain version you buy.

Will it fit a Kerdi-Shower tray?

It is listed as compatible with Kerdi-Shower-T, -TS and -TT trays and with mortar bed installations. Match the drain to the tray's outlet size and the tray's pre-cut drain opening.

Threaded or no-hub outlet: which do I need?

Threaded connects to a threaded riser; no-hub connects with a coupling to plain pipe. Pick the one that matches the plumbing you are tying into, since the two are not interchangeable.

When is the price lowest?

It is a low-volume plumbing part, so pricing moves little. At $30.22 at The Home Depot as of November 4, 2026, it is already near the bottom of its recent range; check the other three stores before ordering.

Our take on the Schluter Kerdi-Drain PVC Flange Kit with 2" Outlet

The Schluter Kerdi-Drain PVC Flange Kit is the drain body for a Kerdi waterproofing system, with a 2-inch threaded or no-hub outlet and an integrated bonding flange. The bonded fleece flange lets Kerdi membrane seal directly to the drain, which is the point of the system: no separate clamping ring or caulk joint at the drain. At $30.22 at The Home Depot as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range across the four stores that list it new.
