Our take on the Schluter KERDI-SHOWER-KIT-FL 38" X 60" Offset PVC Flange + Stainless Steel Grate

This is Schluter's complete shower waterproofing kit: a 38" x 60" preformed sloped tray with an off-center drain, two KERDI-BOARD-SC curbs, 108 sq ft of KERDI membrane, a 5" x 33' strip, a PVC drain flange with 2" outlet, a 4" stainless steel grate, and the preformed corners and seals needed to tie it together. It is aimed at a full mud-free shower build over a subfloor, with the tray bonded and tiled directly. The best new price is $529.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, with three stores listing it new; that sits at the low end of what these kits typically run.

Best forDIY or pro installs replacing a mud-bed shower panBathrooms with a 38" x 60" alcove and an off-center drainBuyers who want tray, curbs, membrane and drain in one boxTile-over waterproofing with a stainless grate look
Pros
  • Preformed tray saves the mud-bed and slope work
  • Includes 108 sq ft of KERDI membrane, enough for tray, walls and curb
  • Two 38" x 6" x 4-1/2" KERDI-BOARD curbs included
  • Off-center drain fits common 60" alcove layouts
  • PVC flange with 2" outlet matches standard drain plumbing
  • Stainless steel 4" grate is durable and easy to clean
Cons
  • Tray size is fixed; the floor must match 38" x 60" exactly
  • Off-center drain limits where the plumbing can sit
  • PVC flange, not ABS; check your drain pipe material
  • Kit price is high next to a loose membrane-and-tray build
  • Grate style is one option only; other finishes cost extra

Questions and answers

Is this kit worth it over a mud-bed shower?
For most people, yes. The preformed tray removes the slope and mortar work, and the kit bundles membrane, curbs, corners and drain. You pay more up front but save labor and reduce leak risk.
Will the off-center drain fit my bathroom?
Only if your drain line lands where the tray's outlet sits. Measure the drain position against the tray before buying; moving plumbing adds cost.
Does the PVC flange work with ABS pipe?
No. The flange is PVC with a 2" outlet, so it mates with PVC drain pipe. For ABS, use the matching ABS version of the kit.
What is in the box?
The 38" x 60" tray, two KERDI-BOARD-SC curbs, 108 sq ft of KERDI membrane, a 5" x 33' strip, the PVC flange, a 4" stainless grate, four inside and two outside corners, a 3/4" pipe seal and a 4-1/2" mixing valve seal.
When is it cheapest?
The best new price seen is $529.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026. Kits like this tend to dip during remodeling-season sales and when a store clears stock.
