Our take on the Sealy Posturepedic Pillowtop Queen Mattress

The Sealy Posturepedic Pillowtop Queen is a queen-size innerspring mattress with a plush pillowtop layer, sold here as last year's model in dark gray. It is overstock or overrun stock bought by the truckload, so the price runs well under typical retail for a Posturepedic. A minor cosmetic blemish on the cover is possible, but the sleep surface is untouched. No current price was provided for this listing, so check the live price against other Posturepedic queen listings before buying.

Best forShoppers who want a plush, cushioned feel
Back and side sleepers who like a soft top layer
Buyers near the East Bay who can pick up or take local delivery
Value hunters willing to accept a possible cover blemish
Pros
  • Genuine Sealy Posturepedic construction, not a house brand
  • Pillowtop adds cushioning over the innerspring core
  • Overstock pricing can land far below standard retail
  • Sleep surface is unaffected by any cosmetic flaw
  • Free showroom pickup in San Leandro; local delivery across the East Bay
Cons
  • Last year's model, so it is not the current Posturepedic lineup
  • Possible cosmetic blemish on the cover
  • No trial period or return terms stated
  • Delivery is local only, not nationwide
  • Pillowtop softness is not ideal for strict firm-mattress fans

Questions and answers

Is this mattress worth it over a new Posturepedic?
If you want the Posturepedic feel at a steep discount and can live with last year's model and a possible cover blemish, it is a strong value. Pay full retail only if you need the current model or a flawless cover.
How does it compare with the current Sealy Posturepedic?
Construction is described as identical to last year's Posturepedic pillowtop, so the feel should be close. The current line may add updated foams or covers, but the core innerspring and pillowtop design carries over.
Is a pillowtop good for back pain?
A pillowtop suits side sleepers and people who want cushioning. Stomach sleepers and those who need firm support often do better on a tighter-top mattress.
What size is it and will it fit my bed?
It is a standard queen, about 60 by 80 inches, so it fits any queen frame or box spring. Measure your room and doorways before delivery.
What is in the box?
This is a mattress only; box spring, foundation and bedding are not included. Confirm with the seller whether delivery includes setup or removal of your old mattress.
When is it cheapest?
Overstock pricing already sits below retail, and clearance lots tend to drop further when stock runs low. Ask the seller about current markdowns before you buy.
What do buyers say about the Sealy Posturepedic Pillowtop Queen Mattress?
Buyers like: Sales staff are attentive and work hard to get you what you like; Staff know their merchandise well and find what you're looking for fast.
