Our take on the Sealy Special Edition Warner 12" Medium Tight Top Mattress + Box Spring

The Sealy Special Edition Warner is a 12-inch medium tight-top innerspring mattress sold with a matching box spring. It uses a 300-coil innerspring unit, is CertiPUR-US certified and made in the US, and carries a 500 lb weight limit. The tight top gives a flat, firm-ish medium feel with no pillow-top cushioning to sag. It is a basic, budget-friendly set for a twin bed rather than a premium mattress.

Pros
  • Includes a matching box spring, so no separate foundation purchase
  • Medium tight top suits a wide range of sleepers
  • 300-coil innerspring with a 500 lb weight limit
  • CertiPUR-US certified foam; made in the US
  • 12-inch height fits standard sheets and bed frames
Cons
  • 300 coils is a low count for a 12-inch mattress; less support than denser innersprings
  • Tight top has little pressure relief for side sleepers
  • Innersprings transfer motion, so it is poor for couples
  • Only spot clean; no removable or washable cover
  • Twin size only in this listing

Questions and answers

Is the Sealy Warner mattress good for side sleepers?
It is a medium tight top with no extra cushioning, so side sleepers may feel pressure at the shoulder and hip. Back and stomach sleepers are a better fit. A mattress topper can soften it.
Does it come with the box spring?
Yes. This is sold as a mattress plus box spring set, so you do not need to buy a foundation separately. Check the listing for whether the box spring is standard height or low-profile.
How firm is a medium tight top?
Medium sits in the middle of the firmness scale, but a tight top with 300 coils tends to feel firmer than a pillow-top medium. Expect a flat, supportive surface rather than a plush one.
What size and weight does it support?
This listing is twin size with a 500 lb maximum weight limit. Confirm the size before ordering if you need full, queen or king.
Is it a good mattress for a guest room or kid's room?
Yes. The included box spring, medium feel and low price suit occasional-use rooms and growing kids. It is not built for heavy daily use by couples.
When is the best time to buy it?
Mattress sets like this see the deepest discounts around Memorial Day, Labor Day and Black Friday. Compare the current price against its recent range before buying.
What do buyers say about the Sealy Special Edition Warner 12" Medium Tight Top Mattress + Box Spring?
