Is $183 a good price for the Sebago Ranger?

It is the best new price found as of November 7, 2026, at Monti Boutique. With only two stores selling it new, there is little room to undercut that figure, so $183 is close to the going rate.

Can I wear the Ranger in rain?

The upper is water resistant and the outsole is rubber, so light rain and wet sidewalks are fine. It is not a waterproof boot, so standing water and heavy downpours will still soak through seams.

How does the Ranger differ from a classic penny loafer?

It laces up, which gives a more secure and adjustable fit, and it sits on a rubber outsole instead of leather. That makes it more casual and better on slick or uneven ground.

What is the upper made of?

Leather, with a leather lining and leather insole. Expect some break-in time and regular conditioning to keep the leather supple.

Does it run true to size?

Sebago loafers generally fit close to standard US sizing, but lacing lets you tighten the fit. If you are between sizes or have wide feet, try before buying or check a store's return policy.

When is the Ranger likely to be cheapest?

With only two new listings, discounts are unlikely outside seasonal sales and end-of-season clearance. Watch for markdowns in late fall and winter.

Our take on the Sebago Ranger Loafers

The Sebago Ranger is a men's leather loafer built on a rubber outsole, with a leather lining and insole and a water-resistant upper. It pairs a dressier loafer shape with lacing and a grippy sole, so it works in wet or uneven conditions better than a slim leather-soled loafer. The best new price is $183 at Monti Boutique as of November 7, 2026, and only two stores list it new, so comparison shopping is limited.
