Our take on the Serta Perfect Rest Cedar Glen Plush Euro Top Queen Mattress with Low Profile Box Spring

The Serta Perfect Rest Cedar Glen is a queen innerspring mattress with a gel memory foam comfort layer and a plush Eurotop, sold with a low-profile box spring. The Eurotop adds a sewn-in cushion layer for a softer, more forgiving feel than a tight-top innerspring, and the gel foam is meant to ease heat buildup over the coils. It suits sleepers who want a traditional springy mattress with a soft surface rather than an all-foam bed. Serta's Perfect Rest line is a value line, so expect a basic coil count and thinner foam than Serta's iComfort or Perfect Sleeper lines.

Best forSide and combination sleepers who want a soft, cushioned topShoppers replacing an older innerspring on a budgetBack sleepers who dislike the sink of all-foam bedsGuest rooms and second bedrooms
Pros
  • Plush Eurotop gives immediate softness over the coils
  • Gel memory foam layer helps with heat compared with plain foam
  • Innerspring core has more bounce and edge pushback than all-foam
  • Low-profile box spring keeps the bed height down for taller frames or low headboards
  • Queen size fits standard sheets and frames
Cons
  • Plush top may feel too soft for stomach sleepers or heavier bodies
  • Basic coil system offers less motion isolation than pocketed coils or foam
  • Eurotop seams can wear or compress sooner than a tight top
  • Gel foam layer is thin, so cooling benefits are modest
  • Low-profile box spring is shorter than standard, which some frames and bed skirts expect

What reviewers say

Owner feedback on Serta's Perfect Rest mattresses is mixed. Many describe the Cedar Glen as comfortable at first, especially for side sleepers who want a soft top, but a recurring complaint is that the plush Eurotop softens and develops body impressions within the first year or two.

Pros
  • Soft, cushioned feel right away
  • Good value for a queen set with box spring
  • Less heat than expected for a foam-topped bed
Cons
  • Body impressions and sagging reported within a year or two
  • Softer than expected for some buyers
  • Shorter lifespan than premium Serta lines

Questions and answers

Is the Cedar Glen good for side sleepers?
Yes, the plush Eurotop cushions shoulders and hips, which suits side sleeping. Heavier side sleepers may find it softens too much over time.
How does it compare with the Serta Perfect Sleeper?
The Perfect Sleeper uses denser foams and better coil systems, so it holds up longer and isolates motion better. The Cedar Glen is the cheaper, softer option with a shorter expected life.
Does it sleep hot?
The gel memory foam layer helps a little, but this is still an innerspring with foam on top and no breathable cover technology. Hot sleepers should expect it to run warmer than a plain coil mattress.
What is included in the set?
The mattress and a low-profile box spring are included. The frame and bedding are not.
How tall is the mattress with the low-profile box spring?
The low-profile box spring is shorter than a standard 9-inch foundation, so the combined height sits lower than a typical mattress-and-box-spring set. Measure your frame and headboard before buying.
When is the best time to buy it?
Mattress prices drop around Memorial Day, Labor Day and Black Friday, and older Perfect Rest models are discounted when a new line arrives. Compare the current price against its recent range before buying.
