Our take on the Serta Perfect Sleeper Sleep Excellence Plush Mattress

The Serta Perfect Sleeper Sleep Excellence Plush is a pillowtop innerspring mattress sold in Queen size. It pairs a plush pillowtop with a coil support core, aimed at sleepers who want a soft, traditional feel rather than memory foam. It is one of Serta's mid-tier Perfect Sleeper models, so expect a softer landing than the brand's firmer lines. Shoppers should compare the Queen price against other Perfect Sleeper models and against hybrid mattresses in the same range before deciding.

Questions and answers

Is the Serta Perfect Sleeper Sleep Excellence Plush worth it?
It suits shoppers who want a soft pillowtop innerspring at a mid-tier price. If you need firm support or a long warranty-backed foam bed, compare hybrids in the same range first.
How does it compare with other Perfect Sleeper models?
This is one of the softer Perfect Sleeper builds. Firmer models in the line trade the pillowtop cushioning for more support and less sag risk.
Will the plush pillowtop sag?
Pillowtops commonly develop body impressions with use, and heavier sleepers see it sooner. Rotating the mattress regularly helps slow it.
Does it work with an adjustable base?
Innerspring mattresses with a pillowtop generally bend on adjustable bases, but check Serta's guidance for this specific model before buying a base.
What size is available?
This listing is Queen size. Serta sells the model in other sizes, so confirm the size and price before ordering.
When is it cheapest?
Mattress prices drop around major holiday sales and when a model is being replaced. Track the Queen price over a few weeks before buying.
