The Shark PowerDetect Transformer LX5002 is a corded upright vacuum that converts between upright, lift-away and above-floor cleaning modes. It uses DuoClean Detect and PowerDetect to sense floor type and dirt and adjust suction and brushroll speed, and it carries a HEPA filter for allergy and pet households. It is heavy at 18 lb and needs an outlet, so it suits whole-home cleaning more than quick tidy-ups. At $449.99 at eBay as of November 6, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent range, so waiting for a sale is reasonable.

Owners of Shark's PowerDetect uprights generally rate the cleaning on carpet and the automatic floor detection highly, and pet owners like the HEPA setup. The main complaints are weight and the corded design.
