Is the Shark SteamSpot worth it?

It suits small areas and spot cleaning, where the Steam Blaster and removable steamer earn their keep. For large floors, the short cord and small tank make it a chore.

How does it compare with a full-size Shark steam mop?

Full-size Shark mops carry longer cords and bigger tanks. The SteamSpot trades those for a lighter body and a detachable handheld steamer.

How long does the cord really reach?

The cord is listed at 19 inches, far shorter than a typical steam mop cord. Expect to use an extension cord or work near an outlet.

What surfaces can I use it on?

Sealed tile, hardwood, laminate, stone, marble and vinyl. Avoid unsealed wood and any floor the manufacturer says not to steam.

How much water does it hold, and how long does that last?

14.2 fl oz. That is a small tank, so refills come often on larger floors.

What comes in the box?

The mop is listed as one piece. Check the listing for included pads or attachments before buying.

Our take on the Shark SteamSpot Steam Mop

The Shark SteamSpot (S2001) is a corded steam mop for sealed tile, hardwood, laminate, stone, marble and vinyl. It heats up in about 4 minutes, reaches 213 F, and holds 14.2 fl oz of water. Its removable steamer and Steam Blaster head target stuck-on stains. It weighs 6 lb and stands about 46 inches tall. The 19-inch cord is unusually short for a steam mop, so plan on an extension cord or a close outlet.
