Our take on the Shark SE450 Professional Electronic Steam Corded Pocket Dust and Mop

The Shark SE450 is a corded electric steam mop with a swivel head, a 25-foot cord and three microfiber pads included. It weighs about 9 lb and is aimed at tile and other hard floors, with a steam pocket design that wraps the pad around the head for two-sided cleaning. It is a simple, no-frills steam mop rather than a vacuum hybrid. No current price was provided, so check the latest best price against its recent range before buying.

Questions and answers

Is the Shark SE450 worth it?
It is a solid choice if you want a corded steam mop for tile and hard floors and do not need vacuuming in the same pass. Compare its current price with the recent range before deciding.
Does it work on wood or laminate?
Shark lists tile as the recommended surface. Steam can damage some sealed wood and laminate, so check the flooring maker's guidance before using it there.
How long is the cord?
The cord is 25 feet, which lets you clean a large room from a single outlet. You still need to manage the cord around furniture.
What comes in the box?
The mop and three premium microfiber steam pocket pads are included. No detergent is needed, since it cleans with steam.
How much does it weigh?
It weighs about 9 lb, light enough to carry up stairs and between rooms. The water tank adds a little weight when filled.
When is it cheapest?
Steam mops like this often drop during seasonal sales and clearance events. Track its price history and buy when the current price sits near the low end of its recent range.
