How many spikes does one tree need?

Space spikes around the drip line rather than at the trunk, using several per mature tree. The box holds 72 spikes, so it covers a full yard of trees and shrubs.

When should I apply them?

Apply in spring as growth starts and again in the fall as trees store energy for winter. Each application feeds for up to 3 months.

Is 8-4-8 enough for citrus?

It supplies nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, but citrus also needs calcium and micronutrients like iron and zinc. Pair it with a citrus micronutrient supplement if leaves yellow.

Can I use them on vegetables or lawns?

They are labeled for citrus, fruit and nut trees and shrubs. For beds and lawns, a granular fertilizer spreads more evenly.

Why is the box listed at 18 lbs and 6 lbs?

The 18 lb figure is the full 72-spike box. The 6 lb figure refers to a 24-spike portion.
