Is 22°F cold enough to freeze food safely?

It will keep food frozen, but 0°F is the usual target for long-term storage. Use this for short-term holding rather than months of storage.

How much food fits in 1.1 cu. ft.?

Expect room for a few frozen dinners, ice cream and small packages on one shelf. It is not a replacement for a full-size freezer.

Does the door open the other way?

Yes. The single door is reversible, so you can set the hinge on either side to fit your space.

How much clearance does it need?

It is 23.62 inches wide and 21.06 inches tall, and reaches 32.1 inches deep with the door open 90 degrees. Leave room for the swing and for airflow around the compressor.

Is it quiet enough for a dorm room?

The listing describes it as low noise, but compressor freezers still cycle audibly. Expect some hum, especially in a small room.
