Our take on the Snailax Heated Shiatsu Neck & Back Massager

The Snailax Heated Shiatsu Neck & Back Massager is an electric seat-back pad that combines rotating shiatsu nodes, heat and a vibration cushion for the neck, shoulders, back, hips and thighs. It straps to most chairs and runs on wall power, with two vibration intensity levels and a deep-tissue setting. It is a plug-in home or office massager rather than a portable one, so plan on using it near an outlet.

Questions and answers

Is the Snailax massager worth it?
If you want a plug-in shiatsu pad for desk or couch use, it covers neck, back and hips at a lower price than a massage chair. Skip it if you need something portable or handheld.
Does it have to be plugged in?
Yes. It is an electric massager that runs on wall power, so you need an outlet nearby. There is no battery.
Can I use it on my thighs and hips?
Yes. The vibration cushion section is meant for hips and thighs, while the shiatsu nodes work the neck, shoulders and back.
How strong is the pressure?
It is a deep-tissue shiatsu massager, and several owners describe the node pressure as firm. People who prefer light massage may find it too intense.
Will it fit my office chair?
It is 31 inches tall and 16 inches wide and straps onto most chairs. Fit depends on your chair's back height and shape.
When is it cheapest?
Watch for price drops around Black Friday, Prime Day and other seasonal sales. Check the price history before buying.
