Our take on the Solar Ground Lights 8 LED Solar Powered Disk Lights Outdoor Waterproof Garden Landscape Lighting

These are flat, disk-shaped solar path lights that stake into soil along walkways and garden beds. Each unit has 8 LEDs, a 1.2V rechargeable cell and a built-in dusk-to-dawn sensor, so they switch on at night with no wiring. The best new price is $14.95 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, and only one store currently lists them new, so there is no meaningful price spread to compare.

Best forRenters who want path lighting without wiringMarking garden beds and walkway edgesLow-cost accent lighting for patios and lawnsBuyers who want automatic dusk-to-dawn operation
Pros
  • No wiring or electrician needed; stake into the ground
  • Dusk-to-dawn sensor turns them on and off automatically
  • 8 LEDs per disk give a wider spread than single-LED stakes
  • Waterproof housing suits year-round outdoor use
  • Low entry price at $14.95 for a multi-pack
Cons
  • 1.2V cell is small, so runtime and brightness are modest
  • Output depends on how much direct sun the panel gets
  • Plastic stakes can crack in hard or frozen soil
  • Light is decorative, not bright enough for security

Questions and answers

Are these bright enough to light a walkway?
They give a soft glow that marks the path edge rather than lighting it fully. For safety lighting on steps, use a brighter wired or motion-sensor fixture.
How long do they stay on at night?
Runtime depends on the day's sun. With a full charge they typically run several hours, and less in winter or shade.
Do they turn on automatically?
Yes. The built-in dusk-to-dawn sensor switches them on at dark and off in daylight.
Can they stay outside in rain and snow?
The housing is waterproof, so rain and snow are fine. In freezing ground, loosen the soil first so the stake does not crack.
What is in the box?
You get the disk lights with attached stakes and pre-installed rechargeable batteries. No wiring or tools are required.
When is the best time to buy?
Garden lighting tends to be discounted in late summer and around winter holidays. At $14.95 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, the price is already low.
Where is the Solar Ground Lights 8 LED Solar Powered Disk Lights Outdoor Waterproof Garden Landscape Lighting cheapest?
At Walmart, for $14.95, as of our latest check.
