Our take on the Solar Powered Outdoor Dusk to Dawn Solar Security Flood Light

This is a solar LED flood light that charges by day and switches on automatically at dusk, so it needs no wiring or outlet. It mounts on a lamp post and runs on a 3.2V system, which suits a gate, driveway or shed where running power is a hassle. At $32.99 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare it against. Expect modest light output from a panel this size, not the punch of a wired floodlight.

Best forRenters who can't run wiringGates, sheds and driveways away from outletsBuyers who want automatic dusk-to-dawn light for under $35
Pros
  • No wiring, no electrician, no outlet needed
  • Turns on and off by itself at dusk and dawn
  • LED bulb keeps power draw low
  • Low entry price at $32.99
  • Lamp post mounting suits fences and posts
Cons
  • 3.2V system limits brightness compared with wired floods
  • Output depends on how much sun the panel gets
  • Battery capacity fades over a few years
  • Only one store lists a new price, so little price competition
  • Lamp post mounting may not fit every wall or eave

Questions and answers

Is this light bright enough for a driveway?
It is a small 3.2V solar LED unit, so treat it as accent or safety light rather than full floodlighting. For a wide driveway, a wired floodlight will be brighter.
How long does it run after a full charge?
That depends on sun exposure and battery condition. Expect several hours of light after a sunny day, and noticeably less after cloudy days or once the battery ages.
Does it really turn on at dusk by itself?
Yes. It has a dusk-to-dawn sensor, so it switches on when light drops and off when daylight returns, with no timer to set.
What do I need to install it?
It is designed for lamp post mounting, so you need a post or bracket it can attach to. No wiring or outlet is required.
Is $32.99 a good price?
Walmart lists it at $32.99 as of November 4, 2026, and it is the only new price listed, so there is no lower recent price to beat. For a solar dusk-to-dawn light, that is a typical budget price.
Can it be used on a wall instead of a post?
The listed mounting is lamp post, so a wall install depends on whether your bracket matches. Check the mounting hardware before buying if you plan to wall-mount.
Where is the Solar Powered Outdoor Dusk to Dawn Solar Security Flood Light cheapest?
At Walmart, for $32.99, as of our latest check.
