Is the Sony BRAVIA 8 II worth $2,498?

It is worth it if you want Sony's processing, calibrated studio modes and Google TV in one set. If you mainly want a bright OLED for less, the LG C5 and Samsung S95F usually undercut it.

How does it compare with the BRAVIA 8 (2024)?

The 8 II adds a Quantum Dot OLED panel and higher peak brightness, plus the newer XR processor. Picture accuracy and HDR impact are the main upgrades; the design and Google TV platform carry over.

Is it good for PS5 and Xbox gaming?

Yes. It has a 120 Hz panel, HDMI 2.1 inputs and low input lag, and Sony's game features work well with the PS5. It also supports ALLM and VRR.

Does it support Dolby Vision and Atmos?

Yes, it supports Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos, and it is IMAX Enhanced certified. You need a compatible source and, for Atmos, a soundbar or receiver.

The TV, a tabletop stand, the Google TV remote, batteries and a power cord. HDMI and other cables are not included.

Our take on the Sony 55" Class BRAVIA 8 II OLED 4K UHD Smart Google TV (2025)

The Sony BRAVIA 8 II is a 2025 OLED 4K TV sold in 55- and 65-inch sizes, with a Quantum Dot OLED panel and Sony's XR processor. Sony claims its highest OLED brightness yet, alongside studio-calibrated modes for Netflix, Prime Video and Sony Pictures Core. The 55-inch is $2,498 at B&H Photo-Video-Audio as of November 5, 2026, with five stores listing it new. That is a premium price for a 55-inch OLED, so compare it against the LG C5 and Samsung S95F before buying.
