Our take on the Sony 65" Bravia A75L 4K UHD OLED 120Hz Dolby Vision Google TV Smart TV (XR65A75L)

The Sony Bravia A75L is a 65-inch 4K OLED TV with a 120Hz panel, Dolby Vision HDR and Google TV built in. It uses Sony's XR processor with XR OLED Contrast Pro for near-infinite blacks and wide 178-degree viewing angles. It has four HDMI ports, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and BRAVIA Sync, and mounts on a 300 x 300mm VESA pattern. It sits below Sony's A80L in the lineup, so it skips the Acoustic Surface Audio+ panel speakers but keeps the same OLED picture processing.

Questions and answers

Is the A75L worth it over the A80L?
The A80L adds Acoustic Surface Audio+ and slightly better sound, but the picture processing is close. If you use a soundbar, the A75L saves money with little loss.
Does it support 4K at 120Hz for PS5 and Xbox Series X?
Yes. The panel is 120Hz with VRR, so current consoles can run 4K at 120fps where the game supports it. Check which HDMI ports are 2.1 before plugging in.
Is OLED brightness a problem in a bright room?
It is dimmer than QD-OLED rivals, so direct sunlight or a very bright room can wash out HDR highlights. In a normal or dim room the contrast is excellent.
What is in the box?
The TV, stand feet, remote, power cable and quick-start guide. No wall mount or HDMI cable is included.
Can I wall-mount it?
Yes. It uses a 300 x 300mm VESA pattern, and the panel is thin enough for a low-profile mount. Have two people for lifting.
When is it cheapest?
OLED TVs usually drop around Black Friday, Super Bowl season and when a new model year launches. Watch the price history before buying.
