Is the Sony FE PZ 16-35mm f/4 G worth it?

It is worth it if you shoot video or want a light full-frame wide zoom and do not need f/2.8. Stills shooters who mostly work in low light may prefer a faster lens.

How does it compare with the Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM?

The G lens is much lighter and adds power zoom, but the GM is a stop faster and better in low light. Choose the G for video and travel, the GM for available-light stills.

Does it have image stabilization?

No. It relies on the camera's in-body stabilization, which most recent Sony full-frame bodies have.

The lens comes with front and rear caps, a lens hood and a soft case. Check the listing for the exact bundle.

Wide zooms like this usually dip during major sales events and Sony rebate periods. With only one new listing at $1,374 as of November 7, 2026, watch for seasonal discounts.

Our take on the Sony FE PZ 16-35mm f/4 G Lens

The Sony FE PZ 16-35mm f/4 G is a full-frame E-mount wide-angle zoom built for video as much as stills. It is unusually light for an f/4 ultrawide, with an internal power zoom, a constant f/4 aperture and a near-silent linear focus motor. The best new price is $1,374 at Adorama as of November 7, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is little room to shop around.
