Is the Digital Edition worth it over the disc PS5?

Yes if you buy games digitally and never rent or resell discs. The disc model costs more but lets you use cheap used discs and play Blu-rays.

How much storage does it have?

It ships with an 825GB SSD, about 667GB usable. You can add an M.2 NVMe SSD or plug in a USB drive for PS4 games.

Can I play PS4 games on it?

Yes, most PS4 games are backward compatible. Digital PS4 titles you own carry over through your account.

Does it come with a controller?

Yes, one DualSense wireless controller and an HDMI cable are included. No stand or extra controller is in the box.

Do I need a 4K TV to use it?

No. It works on 1080p TVs, but you only get the full 4K picture and 120Hz modes on a compatible TV.

Our take on the Sony PlayStation 5 Console Digital Edition

The PlayStation 5 Digital Edition is Sony's disc-free PS5. It plays the same PS5 games as the standard console, with 4K output, ray tracing, an ultra-fast SSD and the DualSense controller with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. The trade-off is no Blu-ray drive, so all games and movies must be downloaded. It is the cheaper way into the PS5 library, and its price moves less than the disc model's because demand stays steady.
