Our take on the Sormag Soft Washed Microfiber Duvet Cover Set, Queen

The Sormag Soft Washed Microfiber Duvet Cover Set is a three-piece queen set: one duvet cover and two pillow shams, made from brushed microfiber with a 600-thread count finish. The fabric is pre-washed for a soft, slightly lived-in feel and is lighter and cheaper than cotton sateen at the same thread count. It is a budget bedding set, so expect microfiber's warmth retention and static rather than the breathability of cotton. No current price was provided, so compare the listed price against the set's usual range before buying.

Best forShoppers furnishing a guest or kids' room on a budgetPeople who want a soft, low-maintenance cover that tolerates frequent washingRenters who want a quick style change without a big spendAnyone who prefers wrinkle-resistant bedding over ironing
Pros
  • Brushed microfiber feels soft out of the package and softens further with washing
  • Wrinkle-resistant and holds shape better than plain cotton
  • Three-piece set includes two matching pillow shams
  • Machine washable and quick to dry
  • 600-thread count finish gives a denser hand than basic microfiber
Cons
  • Microfiber traps heat and can feel clammy for hot sleepers
  • Prone to static and lint pickup, especially in dry rooms
  • Thread count on microfiber is a marketing figure, not a cotton-equivalent measure
  • Duvet insert is not included
  • Limited color and pattern options compared with cotton sets

Questions and answers

Is this set worth it?
For a budget queen set with two shams, yes, if you want softness and easy care over breathability. Hot sleepers and cotton loyalists should look elsewhere.
Does it include a duvet insert?
No. You get the duvet cover and two pillow shams only, so you need a queen duvet insert separately.
Is microfiber with 600 thread count as good as cotton?
No. Thread count on microfiber is not measured the same way as cotton, and the fabric sleeps warmer and less breathable than cotton sateen.
Will it fit a standard queen duvet?
It is sized for a queen duvet, but check the cover's exact dimensions against your insert, since oversized inserts can bunch inside.
How should I wash it?
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and tumble dry low. Avoid high heat, which can set wrinkles and damage the brushed finish.
When is it cheapest?
Microfiber bedding sets usually drop during back-to-school and Black Friday bedding sales. Check the price history before buying.
