Is the Speediance Gym Monster worth it?

It makes sense if space is your main constraint and 220 lbs of resistance covers your training. If you lift heavy barbell squats or deadlifts, a rack and plates cost less and go heavier.

How much space does it need?

About 9 sq ft unfolded, roughly 48 in long by 27 in wide, and about 2.7 sq ft folded. Leave clearance in front for the bench and cable pulls.

What is the maximum resistance?

220 lbs of digital resistance from the electric motor, shared across the cable and barbell modes. That is the ceiling per side or per movement depending on the attachment.

What comes in the box?

The machine, an adjustable bench, an adjustable barbell, a tricep rope, ankle straps and barbell hooks. A subscription is not required to use the basic resistance modes.

Is $2,771 a good price?

It is the best new price across the three stores listing it as of November 5, 2026, and sits at the low end of its recent range. Waiting is unlikely to save much unless a holiday sale appears.

Does it need a subscription?

No for manual resistance training. The guided classes and advanced programming live in the Speediance app, which has a paid tier.
