Is 4 peak HP enough for a shop vacuum?

Peak HP is measured at the motor's best moment, not under load, so it overstates real suction. For car interiors, sawdust and spills it is fine; for continuous heavy debris, a larger tank and hose will do better.

Can it pick up water and dry debris?

Yes. It is a wet/dry vacuum, so you switch the setup for liquid pickup. Empty and dry the tank before going back to dry debris.

How big is the 4 gallon tank in practice?

Four gallons holds roughly a large bucket of debris or spilled water. Expect to empty it a few times during a full garage cleanout.

Is it light enough to carry?

At 8.91 lb it is easy to lift one-handed, and the 16.5 by 18 inch body fits on a shelf. The cord limits how far you can carry it while running.

Is $89.99 a good price?

That is the best new price as of November 7, 2026, and it sits at the top of the recent range across the 3 stores listing it. Waiting for a dip below that is reasonable if you are not in a hurry.

What comes in the box?

Typically the vacuum, a hose, extension wands and a utility nozzle, plus a filter for dry pickup. Check the listing for the exact accessory count before buying.

Our take on the Stanley 4 Gallon 4 Peak HP Wet/Dry Vacuum

The Stanley 4 Gallon 4 Peak HP is a corded wet/dry shop vacuum with a stainless steel tank, built for small garages, cars and household spills. It weighs 8.91 lb and measures about 16.5 inches square by 18 inches tall, so it stores on a shelf without much fuss. The 4 peak HP rating is a peak figure, not a running rating, so expect solid pickup rather than contractor-grade airflow.
